Through innovation and design, an alfresco area at the Hope Island Resort delivers versatility, allowing light, air flow and unrestricted viewing opportunities to take full advantage of the natural surroundings and location.

The brief from the client was to create an exclusive area at Hope Island Resort on the Gold Coast Queensland where patrons could enjoy the relaxing outdoor ambience and take in the breathtaking golf course views.

Transformation of the unused terrace into an elegant environment required overcoming difficulties with how springing points of the structure were at different heights and shapes. The design needed to successfully integrate old with new and ensure that water runoff was directed into garden beds or onto existing roofs. The result is an innovative custom architectural design that is both aesthetically pleasing and maintains symmetry with the existing buildings.

The client wants to duplicate the same design to create another covered area on the opposite side of the existing building.
