Outstanding Achievement Award

Andalucia Exhibit at FITUR 2009

Transformit, Gorham, Maine, United States

This project is a rental installation of more than 50 Transformit Ready-Made structures, used at FITUR 2009 in Madrid. FITUR is Europe’s largest tourism trade show. The end client was the Spanish region of Andalucia, made up of eight provinces, each of which had its own autonomous area in the 65,000 sq ft exhibit. The client was the exhibit house for Andalucia, Decoestudio of Madrid.

The purpose of the exhibit was to build recognition for each of the eight provinces and for Andalucia as a whole. Decoestudio’s designer, Isabel Sanchez Hidalgo, used CAD models of Transformit’s structures in preparing presentation renderings for the client. Each province was presented using the same elements, but in a different color, so while the overall look of the region of Andalucia was integrated, the unique characteristics of each region were highlighted as well.

CAD models made the job of modeling and presenting the entire exhibit much easier than starting from scratch. Since the pieces were rented, prices were known from the beginning, and staying within budget was relatively easy. Colors for the individual pieces were already in stock. All structures were shipped from the warehouse in Holland, and were installed with local labor under the supervision of Decoestudio and Transformit.

Because everyone stayed in close communication throughout the project, the installation went smoothly. Decoestudio was very satisfied because its client was very satisfied.
