Special Event Collaboration for ISES

As a promotional event for a special events venue—the Blender Theater—“Party Like a Rock Star” was conceived to give the special events industry attendees the feeling of being a rock star. Pink Inc. participated with stretch fabric architecture for the entryway, stage, bar areas and ceiling treatments on two floors.

Attendees were greeted in the main hall with a red carpet flanked by custom designed stretch fabric decor—colorful diamond-shaped framed form structures stationed along the entryway walls. Walking into the concert hall, guests began their rock star evening. To accentuate the stage space, long strands of Pink Inc.’s new DNA product highlighted the space. The long structures made the vertical space unusual and a strong statement. Fourteen-foot icicles—built of frame and fabric—hung from the 60' ceiling, creating focal points in the room. The sides of the hall were flanked by bars with a variety of fabric decor Sparks hanging above. They created an instant mobile to highlight the food and beverage stations and could be spotted from anywhere in the room. Attendees moved downstairs to the “Backstage Experience,” a lounge with hors d’oeuvres and a top-shelf bar. The fabric decor filled the ceiling and was set along the perimeter to create the sumptuously decorated lounge.

Orchestrating a project like this is complex. Many people were coming together, in this case a group of New York City event planners, partners and members of the International Special Events Society (ISES). With involvement of more than 20 partners, this was a showcase for some of the best and the brightest in the New York event industry.

The result of the project was a memorable evening. Pink Inc.’s decor elements transformed the space and atmosphere. Lighting on the fabric structures created texture and focus within the event venue.
