Custom Covers Tri-Cone Marquee

:: Custom Covers (1984) Ltd.

The project was the creation of an innovative and aesthetically pleasing cone shape with tensile roof cover that would act as a joining piece for Custom Covers’ 9m width marquee range. The tri-cone was first erected by Tim Jones of Ridgeway Marquees Ltd., a UK based tent rental company, at the historic Coughton Court Manor House in Warwickshire, U.K.

The purpose of the structure was to create a marquee with the aesthetics of a traditional pole tent while maintaining the practicality of the clearspan and developing an innovative means of joining three legs of the 9m marquee together in one tent.

The challenge was joining the three 9m marquee structures with a freestanding triangular cone with clear PVC roofs. The tent was so spectacular that it has gone into full production.
