1945 Art Deco

Buckminster Upholstery

This project involved fully restoring three chairs. The exposed wood needed to be refinished and they needed new springing, padding and cover materials. The client wanted to use these chairs in a home theater.

The original padding materials were a mix of moss and straw; I used excelsior in its place. I made inner spring cushions. Heavy mohair fabric is challenging to work with, especially when sewing, but I felt it wast he best material for the project.

The result was three beautiful new chairs.
