Marine powerboat tops - hard enclosures
Some Rigid/Some Soft
SeaCanvas
For this project we recreated an enclosure using soft .040 press polished sheet vinyl and .080 EZ2CY acrylic window material. We installed a track on the windshield to eliminate snap and common sense fasteners.
The client was looking for rigid windows on the front while using soft vinyl with U-zippers on the sides, a roll-up aft door and aft mid windows.
We were looking to change the tracking on the windshield so we purchased a conduit heat box to ease the process of installing the track on a compound curve forward windshield corner. The aft corner curtains were broad-seamed like a sail to create a slight curve and tight arc from floor to hard top. This was a different approach for us as we usually just do a straight seam. We provided the client with aft window covers made from Evolution fabric which he also used when rolling up the curtain; they snapped into the existing hold snap for the roll-up straps.
The finished product was a complete, four-side enclosure with two front corner EZ2CY .080 acrylic windows with top mesh vents. The side windows were .040 vinyl with U-zippers for ventilation. The aft windows and door roll up and secure with straps.
