Tensioned awnings & canopies
St. Mary's Academy
TensionStructures.com, a division of Eide Industries Inc.
This project included making three canopies with a combined coverage area of 2,974 square feet. The Angel Canopy dimensions were 19 feet by 46 feet (874 square feet), with the Small Wave Canopy at 15 feet by 50 feet (750 square feet) and the Large Wave Canopy at 15 feet by 90 feet (1,350 square feet). The canopies were made with white Ferrari 702 T2 Fabric Membranes. Stainless steel cables and fittings, hollow structural steel frames, tensioned fabric structures and framed fabric structures were utilized.
In September 2009, we completed the engineering, fabrication and installation of three PVC Tensioned Fabric Structures for the main entrance of the beautifully re-landscaped Saint Mary’s Academy in Los Angeles. The center Angel Canopy was designed to emulate the security of an angel as is stands over the school’s main entrance. Two walkway canopies compliment the centerpiece with fluid wave curvatures spanning the entire length. All three canopy frames were created with slip-fit design to allow for a seamless flow without the distraction of large bolted plate connections.
Our project management, engineering, manufacturing and installation capabilities allowed us to work closely with the client throughout the project to minimize costs, expedite the design and build phases and complete construction deadlines ahead of schedule.
