Röder Zelt-und Veranstaltungsservice GmbH delivered more than 500 tents totaling well over 40,000m² of tents to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games. The material for the big tents came from the factory in Büdingen, Germany; the small tents came from the branch in Shanghai. The biggest tent ensemble (100m x 185m) with a capacity of approximately 16,000 seats served as a restaurant for the athletes and officials in the Olympic Village, covering a ground area of 18,500m². All tent structures were also used for the Paralympics Games which took place in September 2008.
